PLEASE NOTE: Leaping Lemurs Soft Play is CLOSED until further notice. This building will be converted into a new Reptile House. A brand new indoor play facility will follow shortly, so please bear with us in the meantime.

The Zoo is situated on the outskirts of West Calder, West Lothian, close to the A71 and Livingston town centre.  

 

 

 TRAVELLING BY CAR : Postcode EH55 8PT

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A ROAD CLOSURE ON THE A71 BETWEEN POLBETH INDUSTRIAL ESTATE AND WEST CALDER TRAIN STATION (THE BRIDGE OVER THE RAIL TRACK IS CLOSED). ROAD DIVERSIONS ARE IN PLACE, AND WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO FOLLOW THESE SIGNS. THANK YOU.

From the M8 (Junction 3) and Livingston take the A899 to the A71 and follow the road signs for West Calder.  As you enter West Calder, at the 2nd set of traffic lights (after the Arnold Clark car sales on your left) you will see a brown Visit Scotland sign directing you to turn right - continue to follow the brown signs to the Zoo, which is approximately 1 mile from here.  Parking is free at the Zoo.

If travelling across country from Bathgate direction, the Zoo is signed from Blackburn Cross, directing traffic onto the B792 and the Zoo is approx 4.5 miles from here.

If travelling from the west along the A71, the Zoo is signed from the first set of traffic lights in West Calder.

If travelling from the west on the A705, the Zoo is signed at the traffic lights at the Simpson Parkway, follow the brown signs, the Zoo is approximately 3 miles from here.

 



 

TRAVELLING BY TRAIN

The nearest train station to the Zoo is West Calder which links to Glasgow Central and Waverley Station and operates a reliable and frequent service during peak times.

TRAVELLING BY BUS

First Bus is the main bus company with routes along the A71 linking Polbeth and West Calder to Livingston Town Centre. Visitors travelling by bus from Edinburgh would have to change at Livingston bus station.
