Director of Wetheriggs Animal Rescue and Conservation Centre near
Penrith will be giving a talk “Rescue and Conservation” on
Saturday 21st
November 2009. This
talk will consist of the work of his rescue centre and how he ties
this in with conservation issues and also how these issues exist in
wildlife parks and zoos. Terry
has many years experience in animal husbandry and management, he has
worked as zoo manager and head of mammals at various animal and
wildlife parks, a committee member of various species studbooks and
has worked on re-establishing Przewalski’s horses in the Gobi
Desert. He has also won two gold medals for first breeding’s in
captivity. Wetheriggs
Animal Rescue and Conservation Centre is a registered charity that
cares for a variety of animals that have come from various situations
including been handed in by owners who can no longer look after them
and rescued wild animals.

donation to attend the talk, no booking necessary but numbers are
limited to 20 people per session

| Countryside & Conservation club |
The Falconry School runs the Countryside & Conservation Club for the benefit of budding young naturalist here at the Zoo Park. Classes run every Saturday through out the summer (first class start at 8:45 AM).
Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. We will teach young and old alike traditional country knowledge, skills and how we can conserve our environment and its wildlife for future generations.
